Our appraisal services
HAIL DAMAGE
If not inspected properly there will be damage overlooked, damage not documented properly, or discrepancies between the adjuster and contractor in determining what is damaged and what is not. Other concerns such as insulation, and windows not sealing properly, can lead to further damage.
FIRE DAMAGE
Assessing fire damage to your home or business is a meticulous process with multiple steps. We understand exactly what the process involves. Most importantly a proper inspection, and documentation of the loss. We will conduct accurate assessments of the water, soot, smoke, and heat damage that has affected each area.
STORM DAMAGE
Unfortunately, high wind and tornado damage can go beyond what you first see. Major roofing or window damage can lead to water entering your building, impacting your flooring, sheetrock, wiring, or insulation, and more. These items are often overlooked in the initial inspection.
WATER DAMAGE
Water damage can be very complicated in the fact that damage can be hidden if not inspected properly. If you believe the settlement of your claim is insufficient to cover the cost of repairs or issues with the scope of damage. Appraisal may be the answer to that problem.

What is the appraisal clause?
The appraisal clause in a property insurance policy allows the policyholder to demand an appraisal of the loss when there is a disagreement or impasse in the scope or cost of the damage. Each party selects a competent and impartial appraiser (paid by that party) to separately evaluate the amount of the loss at issue. A neutral umpire is also selected — this umpire will determine the correct amount of the loss if the two impartial appraisers cannot agree. The cost of the umpire is split between both parties. The purpose of the Insurance Claim Appraisal process is to offer both parties to the insurance contract a less expensive and more expedient alternative to going to court to reach a settlement.
How much will this cost?
An insurance appraisal can be a valuable tool when policyholders and their insurers disagree on the value of a claim. This tool can help determine the amount of damage to the property because appraisers for both sides will perform a thorough investigation to help come to a final decision. However, these services are not free of charge, and, generally, each party involved must hire and pay the costs of their appraiser, while splitting the cost of the umpire "if those services are needed". To keep the process unbiased, the fees should be hourly or a set fee.
The total cost will depend on the type, size, extent of damage, and differences or gaps in the settlement between the insurer and the insured.
